Based in London and hailing from Trinidadian immigration, Patricia Lalla is an author who explores the boundaries between cinema, television, and new technologies. With master's degrees in screenwriting (London College of Communication) and immersive storytelling (Royal Holloway), she has developed a unique approach where historical narrative meets innovation. Her short film «Earth» was recognized at the Sitges Film Festival, and her work for StoryFutures has helped bring to light forgotten figures through augmented reality.
Committed to knowledge sharing, Patricia sits on the advisory board of MyWorld, a UK research center focused on creative technologies. She has collaborated with Women in Film and Television and Sheffield DocFest, among others. Her projects give voice to Caribbean perspectives within the global digital industry, blending research rigor with cinematic magic.
As part of her residency at an altitude of 150 meters, Patricia is developing the project «Operation Neuland.» This immersive exploration delves into a little-known episode of World War II in the Caribbean. In Martinique, she is deepening her research on the region's strategic role and mobilizing immersive technologies to transform this historical memory into a new sensory and narrative experience, rooted in the territory.
