Visit 150-meter-high residence“ was born of a simple observation: in our creative ecosystem, there was a lack of space where time, meeting and research could coexist without pressure to achieve results.
A place where you can come observe, experiment, fail, try again, and above all - thinking together. At the crossroads of creation, research and transmission, the residency was imagined as a beating heart, A space open to the world, where every presence becomes a fragment of the collective project.
Thought by curator and artist Georges-Emmanuel Arnaud, the residence was built in the spirit of’hospitality and transversality. We welcome artists, researchers, craftspeople, technicians, students and curious members of the public.
All come here to cross their practices, confront their imaginations and weave links between art, science, heritage, environment and society. The residency doesn't impose a single form: it accompanies the process, offering a space for gesture, thought and speech.
Located in Martinique, on the border between the sea and the mountains, the residence is rooted in an exceptional environment. living territory, She embraces its complexity, beauty and contradictions.
It seeks to make the most of local resources, both human and natural, through exchange programs, research laboratories, creative spaces and forms of display. It dialogues with heritage sites, cultural structures, schools, researchers, farmers and local residents - because creation is never detached from the territory that supports it.
At an altitude of 150 metres, the residence is conceived as a laboratory of the future a breathing space for today's artists and thinkers, but also a balancing tool for the Caribbean cultural ecosystem.
She imagines bridges between disciplines, generations and islands. She aspires to make Martinique an area for experimentation, sharing and international influence, where each project becomes a different way of living in the world.
Georges-Emmanuel ARNAUD is a photographer, sculptor and art director, born and living in Martinique.
With the residence 150 m altitude, He wanted to imagine a space for exploration, creation and transmission, where the arts and sciences, movement and motionlessness, material and immaterial, hardware, software and wetware can come together.
His role as curator is to initiate, coordinate and support, while allowing each residency project to develop as a collective adventure.
I coordinate all aspects of the residency: welcoming artists, providing creative support, technical set-up (photo, video, motion capture, VR).
My experience links visual arts, heritage and digital art. I have worked on national and international projects involving performance, fashion, video, VR and living archives.
Trained in photography in Paris, I now develop bridges between artistic creation, digital innovation and transmission, in Martinique and elsewhere.

Beyond artistic creation, I feed my work with other passions.
Reading inspires me and connects me to other cultures.
Cinema and books are part of my reflection on image and narrative.
Music gives rhythm to my projects and supports the energy of the residencies.
Finally, for me, cooking is a way of sharing: gathering around a table, passing on simple know-how, creating links in the same way that art does.
For me, sharing a meal is a natural extension of residency work: a moment of conviviality and transmission as important as the creation itself.
The dialogue between still and moving images feeds my work.
Theoretical and manifesto readings accompany and inspire my projects.
It gives rhythm to the creative process and links artists together.
An idea only has breath when it meets other breaths. At an altitude of 150 m, we move forward as a team - artists, craftsmen, technicians, researchers, but also advisors, logisticians, supporters and kind souls who accompany us every step of the way. It is in this constellation of energies, know-how and benevolence that our projects take shape. Nothing is done alone, everything is woven together.
When he's not in his hammock thinking about the world, He's the first to roll up his sleeves and make things happen. Always present, always willing, he embodies the quiet generosity that drives the residence forward. Curious about everything, eager to learn and understand, he puts his passion - music - at the service of the collective. As passionate about the spiritual as he is about spirits, he reminds us that life, like creation, demands as much elevation as conviviality.
Passionate about art in all its forms, She is a rare presence, faithful, consistent and benevolent. Her sense of logic and balance, as well as her openness and ability to connect people, make her a precious ally in the life of the residence. At an altitude of 150 m, she is one of those whose discreet but essential presence makes things possible.
