Guy Marc Vadeleux GMX

GMX (Guy-Marc Vadeleux) is a pianist, composer, and performer from Martinique whose music sits at the crossroads of jazz, Caribbean rhythms, and world music. Deeply rooted in Antilles culture while remaining open to international influences, his musical practice explores the freedoms of jazz while engaging in dialogue with popular traditions, from bèlè to biguine, from zouk to Cuban rumba.

Coming from a family of artists, he grew up in an environment where music and creation were central. Drawn to the piano from a young age, he developed an ear and musical sensitivity that led him to explore many sound universes. The discovery of jazz marked a decisive turning point in his journey, leading him to deepen his training in Cuba at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, where he refined his musical language and his approach to improvisation.

Through his albums and collaborations, GMX develops a free, sensitive, and generous music, permeated by the spirit of the All-World. Between original compositions, covers, and dialogues with musicians from multiple backgrounds, he builds a universe where jazz becomes a space for encounters between cultures, traditions, and contemporary imaginations.
