Silvia Gaillard

Silvia Gaillard has been an actress, dancer and director for over thirty years. Trained in theater and stagecraft, she discovered motion capture in the late 1990s and became one of its pioneers in France. This technology, which she approaches as an extension of the body and acting, enables her to unite movement, acting and staging in a single expressive dynamic. With a background rooted in creation and interpretation, she has developed a singular practice where gesture, presence and digital experimentation meet.

Driven by a deep-seated desire to pass on her skills, Silvia Gaillard has been involved for many years in acting and dance with a wide range of audiences - professionals, amateurs, children, adults and people with disabilities. In 2023, she founded the first motion capture training program in France, aimed at actors, stuntmen and video game and audiovisual technicians. Through this initiative, she promotes a humanist and creative approach to digital performance, while working to improve the representation of women in the motion capture and technology creation professions.
