Vincent Sekwati Mantsoe

A native of Soweto, South Africa, Vincent Sekwati ‘Koko’ Mantsoe is a choreographer, dancer and teacher. Born into a line of sangomas - traditional Zulu healers - he grew up in a world where movement links bodies to spirits. This spiritual imprint has left a deep mark on his career, underpinning his vision of dance as a vital force, both rooted in tradition and open to the contemporary world.

Trained at Moving Into Dance Mophatong, he has developed a singular aesthetic that he calls Afro-Fusion, fusing African, contemporary and ritual dances in a quest for balance between power, humility and humanity. Settled in France since 2005, where he created the Association Noa - Compagnie Vincent Mantsoe, he pursues an international career while remaining faithful to his roots. Through his creations, he explores memory, spirituality and the energy of the body as a universal language between past and future.
