Patricia Lalla

A London-based writer of Trinidadian heritage, Patricia Lalla works at the frontiers of film, television and new technologies. Holding master’s degrees in screenwriting (London College of Communication) and immersive storytelling (Royal Holloway), she has developed a distinctive approach in which historical narrative meets innovation. Her short film “Earth” drew attention at the Sitges Film Festival, and her work for StoryFutures has helped bring forgotten figures back to light through augmented reality.

Committed to sharing knowledge, Patricia sits on the advisory board of MyWorld, a UK research centre dedicated to creative technologies. She has collaborated with Women in Film and Television and Sheffield DocFest, among others. Her projects give voice to Caribbean perspectives within the global digital industry, combining rigorous research with cinematic magic.

During her residency at 150 m d’altitude, Patricia is developing “Opération Neuland”, an immersive exploration of a little-known episode of the Second World War in the Caribbean. In Martinique, she is deepening her research into the region’s strategic role and drawing on immersive technologies to transform this historical memory into a new sensory and narrative experience, rooted in the territory.
