William French

Musician & new media artist

William French is a French-Norwegian artist whose work redefines the interaction between body and sound. At the crossroads of music and new media, he shapes ethereal, cerebral soundscapes, favouring mystical chord progressions and intricate sound design. Rejecting genre labels, he focuses on an immersive, sensory approach to electronic creation.

A true alchemist of movement, he uses sensor gloves to sculpt his music through gesture. On stage, this cutting-edge technology allows him to control, in real time, laser shows that respond to his arms, creating a complete symbiosis between performer, space and audience. His practice turns technical performance into a sensory ritual in which the digital becomes an extension of the living.

At 150 m d’altitude, William is researching the digital embodiment of emotion and gesture. He is using this immersion to explore how full-body motion capture and wearable devices can enrich the language of live performance. His aim is to hybridise his tools with the energy of the territory, creating visual and sonic experiences that resonate with the identity of the place.
