Bruno Cordonnier

Bruno Cordonnier is a French photographer and exhibition printer, born in 1964. A graduate of the Institut Saint-Luc in Tournai (1986), he lives and works in Paris. After many years at a major Parisian photographic laboratory, he founded Atelier Surexposés, a studio dedicated to exhibition printing where, for more than fifteen years, he has produced pigment prints for artists and institutions, bringing his experience of the analogue darkroom to bear on contemporary digital technologies.
Alongside his work as a printer, he pursues a personal photographic practice nourished by travel and encounters. His images have been made in many countries — Indonesia, Mali, Iran, India, Yemen, Syria, Egypt, São Tomé, Zanzibar, Cuba, Madagascar and Cambodia among them — forming a sensitive exploration of places, cultures and atmospheres.
His photographs from Soirées parisiennes, devoted to the energy and intimacy of Parisian nightlife, were exhibited by Jean-Claude Lemagny at the Mois de la Photo in 1992 and are now held in the collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France. In 2025 he published Danser Paris with Le Bec en l’air, a book bringing together this work on the night and dance.
