Gilles Dusfour
Biomechanics engineer & researcher
Gilles Dusfour is an engineer and researcher in biomechanics, specialising in movement analysis and the development of digital tools for a deeper understanding of human gesture. He holds a PhD in mechanics from the University of Montpellier and has collaborated with several leading laboratories, including LMGC, Euromov and IMT Mines Alès, where he worked on the characterisation of biological tissue and on the creation of innovative computational and image-analysis tools.
At the CARTIGEN platform, he contributes to research on musculoskeletal disorders. His work ranges from designing scientific protocols to developing software, as well as operating and maintaining state-of-the-art measurement equipment: motion capture systems (Xsens MVN, Qualisys), force plates, inertial sensors and electromyography. He supports researchers and companies in making use of this complex data to derive reliable, meaningful indicators.
His research and interventions apply to both medicine and sport, helping to prevent injuries and optimise performance. Gilles Dusfour is recognised for his ability to bring academic research, industrial innovation and the study of human movement in all its forms into dialogue.
