Xavier Jacolot is a senior 3D animator who has specialised in motion capture for more than twenty years. He has contributed to numerous international productions spanning video games, film and virtual reality. His mastery of body and facial animation, combined with extensive on-set experience, has led him to work with renowned studios such as Ubisoft, Dontnod Entertainment, Unit Image, Emissive and The Imaginarium Studios, on landmark projects including Assassin’s Creed Unity, Final Fantasy Kingsglaive, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Life is Strange and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.
Beyond animation, he has often taken on cross-disciplinary roles as director, assistant director and technical supervisor, making him an expert in end-to-end pipelines, from on-set capture to final integration. His career reflects a rare ability to combine technical precision with an artistic eye, ensuring consistency between the actors’ performance and its digital rendering.
A regular instructor at schools such as ESRA and ITIN, Xavier Jacolot also passes on his expertise to young creators. Passionate about innovation and the intersections between immersive technologies and storytelling, he is today a leading reference in the fields of motion capture and 3D animation.
